G'day everyone! Thanks very much for checking out my "About Me" page! I hope you'll find this information very helpful in discovering more about who I am and what I stand for!
My name is Sam Gardiner, and I'm a young Christian guy from Australia who - as you can probably already tell - has a huge passion for music! I got hooked on Christian music only a few years ago, when my dad started playing K-LOVE Radio in the house. Before this I had no interest in music whatsoever, and my only experience of Christian music was a handful of worship CD's that my family owned. When I originally began listening to K-LOVE I was irritated by the loud noises pumping out of the speakers that used to wake me up every morning! However I eventually started listening intently to the music, and began to gain an interest. Christian music is not a huge trend over here in Australia, so these tunes were like nothing I'd ever heard before. It was the moment I heard TobyMac's song "Irene" that set off my intense passion for Christian music. Upon hearing this song, I was immediately hooked on Toby's music and began to be exposed to even more talented artists such as Casting Crowns, Newsboys, Switchfoot, NEEDTOBREATHE, MercyMe, David Crowder Band, Mark Schultz, Kutless and Skillet. I began uploading video reviews to YouTube in April 2010 in order to share my opinions on some of my favourite albums, and launched godtunesreviews.com in October 2010. I also have a passion for belting out rockin' tunes on my guitar, and my dream is to eventually write and record a song.
With my ministry, God Tunes Reviews, I endeavour to promote quality and encouraging "God Tunes" through music reviews, news, videos, interviews and press releases. There is so much "popular" music in the world that lacks fulfillness for our hearts, and I believe that Christian music has the power to change lives. I want to clear the stereotypical misconception that music lacks quality just because it is "religious". I strive to make it known there is quality music out there that can inspire and encourage us in our Christian walk.
Apart from music, however, I also have a number of other hobbies. I enjoy playing a variety of sports, but I especially love playing soccer each Saturday morning during the winter months. I also love to write! As well as writing for this website, I am currently a staff writer at Real Teen Faith, a website where both faith-filled and seeking teens can ask tough questions about God as well as talk about current events, books, music, culture and devotionals. One of my all-time favourite movies would be The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, as I love the Christian parallels and references. Unfortunately I haven't read the books yet, but someday I will! I also enjoy experimenting with film and photography, and I would have to say that Photoshop is the greatest program ever invented!
